The Bangladeshi migrant worker Abul Hashem died in Qatar due to “acute cardio respiratory failure” at a construction site neary Doha.  On the day of his death, he was working at a construction site in Al Rayyan in Doha and according to the family he was setting tiles. The other coworkers immediately called an ambulance which took Hashem to the hospital where he was declared dead. Abul Kalam Azad, the son of deceased migrant says that his father had no previous history of heart problems.

Died at the construction site

The bangladeshi migrant worker Abul Hashem died in Qatar due to “acute cardio respiratory failure” at a construction site nearby Doha.

Hashem was son of Abdul Munaf and lived in the Feni district in Bangladesh.

In Qatar was employed as a mason at the Doha based construction company ‘Saeed Salem Al Khulaifi Trading and Contracting”, according to the Bangladesh embassy in Qatar.

The migrant worker was only 45 years when he died on 30 July 2019.

Abul Hashem had spent BDT 650,000 (USD 7608) for getting a ‘free visa’ to Qatar. (Free visa is a type of employment visa but it does not have specific job. Worker needs to find job in destination).

Aftwer his arrival in Qatar, he worked as mason at different construction sites and was payed BDT 30,000 monthly.

On the day of his death, he was working at a construction site in Al Rayyan in Doha and according to the family he was setting tiles.

The other coworkers immediately called an ambulance which took Hashem to the hospital where he was declared dead.

Abul Kalam Azad, the son of deceased migrant says that his father had no previous heart disease.

– We received the news of our father’s death from his uncle who was staying nearby of my father’s workplace.

The son also said that his father had worked in Qatar for 3 years and 6 months and that the family had received QR 5,500.
